In the studio, the conversations that take the longest are often about the smallest things. These are the details that turn a piece from something you wear into something you reach for.
1. The hand-feel of the fabric
Before we think about shape, we think about touch. We test how a fabric feels against the skin, how it drapes and how it behaves after a day of wear.
2. The weight of a button
A button is small, but it is one of the first things your fingers meet. We look for weight, finish and a shape that feels good to fasten.
3. A line that falls just right
We adjust hems and shoulder seams in small increments until a piece falls cleanly when you move, not only when you stand still.
4. Finishes inside and out
Neat seams and considered linings make a piece feel good to put on and help it last longer in your wardrobe.
5. Room to style it your way
Every piece should work in more than one way. If we cannot picture it three different ways, we keep refining it.
